It's a Valentine's Day Blog Hop!!

Hi there! Welcome to your next stop to the 2014 Valentine's Day Blog Hop. You should be getting here from Carolyn's Creative Corner. If you just started here head over to Rockin Renee's Blog so you go through the whole hop from the beginning! Everyone has created something special and you wouldn't want to miss a single one!

Your next stop will be Maria at Stamp, Cut, Create!

The theme of this hop is Valentine's Day and With less than a week to go I had to get moving on the gift I made for my dear husband Nick. I was once again on Pinterest when I came across a bunch of projects where you turn a deck of cards into a mini album with 52 reasons why you love someone. I immediately decided that was what I wanted to make and set myself to work! I am tickled with how well it came out!

This was a breeze to make just a little time consuming. 52 little scalloped rectangles take awhile to glue onto 52 cards!
I went straight to my trusty tool CCR and went to work. I picked out the scalloped rectangle and drug it out to the size I felt would best fit the card. Then I checked that awesome box, auto fill. BAM! My virtual mat was full of squares to write in. I then went to work using CCR and all my cartridges fonts writing a reason I loved Nick on each one. This really taught me the utility of the the layers in CCR. I was able to plan out my entire project at once. Once I was finished it was time to get cutting/drawing.

I add drawing because I used my Cricut to write out everything for me. My marker outlined all of the scalloped rectangles and the wrote everything I did. I then just swapped out the marker for my blade and cut out the rectangles. It was a snap. I used a hole punch to punch the holes in the cards and just used some plain rings that I wrapped in Washi tape to bind it all.  It's a super fun way to show Nick that I do love him, even if he never manages to get his laundry into the hamper!

No gift is complete without a card so after lots of trial and error I realized I was going about it all wrong. I needed to just KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). I was overworking his card to the point it became to much. This card is simple yet not boring. It's masculine but not stereotypical. I am VERY happy with it! This was simply cut with CCR Basics and the font is from Songbird.
Hope you all are enjoying the blog hop! Again your next stop is Stamp, Cut, Create!  I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
